Description

Take a sneak peek
Hamlet’s reaction to the re-enactment of Pyrrhus’ revenge on Priam “in rage strikes wide”, is an attempt to conjure up the depth of emotion the player displays in his delivery. The contrast between that which is real, and that which is performative is suggestive of Hamlet’s inability to respond emotionally in a way that is legitimate according to the insistent demand by his dead father that he should “revenge my most foul and unnatural murder”.
