Witchcraft, sorcery, evil-doings, supernatural soliciting, the three women (if you can call them that) who stand here before you, have been accused by the state of practising witchcraft resulting in the anarchy that catapulted Scotland into a period of darkness that the country has never before encountered. A country that did not know itself, it will be the assertion of the prosecution in the case of the State Versus the Witches, that these three women are guilty of the crime of being witches, guilty of the second crime of performing witchcraft, and guilty of the third crime of playing a key role in the treasonous act of murdering the esteemed King Duncan, and the subsequent murder of the much revered Banquo. Doubtless, the traitorous Macbeth must also be held accountable for these deaths, and furthermore, for the deaths of countless others as his tyrannical quest for power continued unabated. But, and it is a big but…it will be our assertion that the witchcraft practised by the three weird sisters (and they are weird – have a look at them here. They exist as inhabitants of the earth but should not be on it. Their beards disguise their gender as female. In short, fair is foul and foul is fair.) ….as I said, the witchcraft practised by these weird sisters must inevitably be acknowledged as contributing to the fall of Scotland.
